Susan B. King

 

Susan King has been the River Oaks Principal for eight years. As her lunch apron says, she is the “Proud Principal”. Mrs. King has been a catalyst, through her leadership as Principal, for new academic initiatives in support of River Oaks students and teachers. She brought a variety of experiences to the position of principal, particularly her own experiences in the classroom.

Mrs. King is a graduate of the Ohio State University and completed graduate studies at Eastern Michigan University with an EDS in Leadership. Her educational experiences encompass teaching in many different states and different levels. She has taught early childhood, elementary, secondary, alternative and college classes throughout her career. She has presented at State and National conferences, workshops and in-services.

Mrs. King has many interests and joys outside of her River Oaks family. She enjoys her two adult children, Kirsten and Geof, and her extended family and pets. She is an avid reader, hopeful writer; enjoys her friends; loves to travel and constantly seeks the history and “find” of a great antique. However, conversation almost always goes back to “kids and school” for Susan. She truly loves what she is doing and where she is---at River Oaks.
