Did you know?
The Rotunda Land Company purchased the land in 1958 from Raymond and Evangeline Dahlinger (who purchased the land from Henry Ford, once part of the Henry Ford Estate).
In 1958 School District #2 (Fairlane) bought the property from the Rotunda Land Company and built River Oaks.
On the property that is now River Oaks were two race tracks, the school was built on the test track because it was the highest land near the River.
The school opened its doors to students Kindergarten through 6th grade in September 1959.
In 1972 Fairlane School District was annexed by Dearborn.
Notes taken from Mrs. Ling’s class research project (1979), housed in River Oaks Media Center.
